Smak Bar
When you’re hungry, thirsty, cold or for any other reason dying to be immediately comfortable and satisfied, they’d like to introduce you to SMAK Bar. Actually you can’t miss it. You shouldn’t miss it. Because this is one of those places that you’ve been to a thousand times…. in your dreams. Warm. Hip. And above all, packed with that ‘come-on -in -and -have –a- great –time- no- matter -what’ feeling. Local micro brews are featured right next to a robust selection of new world wines. Handmade cocktails. The menu is flexible, fabulous, and fastidiously prepared and served. It’s just about impossible to leave the SMAK Bar without feeling fabulous. And when you consider how good you felt when you stopped in…. that’s saying something.

SMAK is the spot for après ski cocktails and a casual bite, or frankly, whenever the mood calls for a comfortable spot, a refreshing drink and savory little nibble. Best of all, there’s always something on one of the HDTV’s so sit back and kick your boots up. Everywhere and all the time, SMAK lives up to its name. Which is, fun, refreshing, always just what the doctor ordered. Right on the plaza at the Madeline, the doors that disappear to let the outside in.
SMAK Bar is open for lunch and dinner and every precious minute in between.

Restaurant REV
There is nothing like Restaurant REV in Telluride, or the state for that matter. But when you’re a guest at the Madeline, it couldn’t be any closer. As you might imagine some of their most renowned dishes bring Colorado beef, lamb, and elk. Fresh produce is a given. And nothing is taken for granted. A connoisseurs wine list. The entire experience is equaled only by the elegantly serene setting of the backlit bar and handsome dining room. This is the not-to-be-missed restaurant that delivers what so many pretend to.
Breakfast and dinner is served.

Starbucks
Starbucks is now open at the Hotel Madeline Telluride in Mountain Village.
Linger over a steaming espresso or a soothing cup of chai with a muffin, bagel or scone.
Choose from a full range of beverages including brewed coffee, Tazo teas, bottled drinks, Frappuccinos, chocolate beverages, smoothies and iced drinks.  Enjoy a flavorful sandwich, panini or salad.  Open every day from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Hotel features:

The Spa at the Hotel Madeline
It’s been a fabulous day on the course, on the hill, all around town. At the end of it all when Telluride finally begins to unwind shouldn’t you join in? There’s nowhere better to get away from it all than The Spa at the Hotel Madeline. Here, far removed from the everyday world is an island of tranquility. The Spa is home to nature-inspired therapies inspired by the high alpine surroundings. Restoring therapies that allow you to ‘play hard and recover quickly’. It is a place where knowing hands and minds employ the highest quality products and enlightened techniques as soothing as they are restorative. As you might expect, the choices are as welcome as the rewards – from handsome fitness and pool facilities to a wide range of treatments and services from massage, to facials, manicures and pedicures.

Pool
In winter, as the snowflakes fall outside you too float weightlessly. In the glass doors swing wide open to the sweeping views of the most dramatic mountains in America. In every season the pool, hot tubs and steam room at the Madeline redefine therapeutic and rejuvenating powers of H2O to new levels. The pool and steam room are open 24 hours per day via room key.

Fitness
In Telluride, they’re all about staying active. But sometimes, instead of the mountains, it’s the gym that’s calling. Here, guests can workout at the mountain-view fitness center anytime, day or night. Technogym cardio and free weight equipment is all state-of-the-art.

Personal Fitness Training & Stretching Recovery
Join the expert Personal Fitness Trainer, Josh Biard, for a unique and holistic approach to fitness. Repair your body after a day on the slopes or trails and prepare for your next outing with Recovery Stretching (RS). Private RS manual stretching is performed on a massage table and involves foam rolling and specialized stretching techniques designed to increase elasticity in muscles and joints and improve circulation.
These programs may be booked individually or in combination: 24-hour notice required.

Ice Skating
In the winter months, the Mountain Village Ice Rink, just outside the door, is a quaint and casual place in the heart of the plaza to take a few jumps and twirls – whether they’re intentional or not. You can rent skates right at the rink. Refreshments are just steps away at SMAK Bar…a hot cocoa or a winter cocktail to take the chill off. For an even larger skating venue, the new Hanley Ice Pavilion is located a gondola ride away in the Telluride Town Park and offers recreational skating, hockey and broomball.

Winter Activities:

Telluride Helitrax is the only licensed heli-skiing company operating in Colorado. A single-day tour includes six runs and 10,000 to 12,000 vertical feet of skiing. The all-inclusive tour is $1,195, beginning with orientation at the Hotel Madeline or the5 Inn at Lost Creek with the heli-pad nearby and post tour après-ski refreshments at 9545 Bar. Custom tours to the isolated ghost town of Dunton for a visit to the hot springs and lunch in the saloon are also available. More information.

Experience the peace and tranquility of the Colorado backcountry as you fly through the snow on a dog-sled pulled by eight to ten Alaskan Huskies. This fun activity for all ages carries the guest stamp of approval. There are two passengers per sled; children under three may sit on parent’s lap. Morning and afternoon half-day 4 to 6 person tours are $200 per person.

Snowmobile Tours
Snowmobile tours will whisk you through a snowy wonderland of wide open alpine meadows or to the remote historic town of Alta, where wilderness mining was done by hand. Guides with expert knowledge of the history of these areas will add enjoyment to your tour.

Mountain Sleigh Rides with Dinner
It takes more than a few horses to pull a sleigh up the ski mountain, so this ride features a sleigh pulled by a high horse powered snow-cat to Goronno Ranch. Guests will enjoy a delicious western style dinner and a drink by the fire. Sleighs depart at 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm, in the plaza next to the Inn at Lost Creek and return from Goronno Ranch at 9:30 and 10:00 pm. Adults-$80. Children 4-12-$40. Children 3 & under free.

Snowshoeing
The easiest way to experience mountain scenery and wildlife, especially for non-skiers, is on snowshoe. Topaten Touring Center offers 10 kilometers of groomed trails, a warming hut, snowshoe rental and guided tours featuring wildlife, forest ecology, geology and history. For snow shoeing on the Mountain Village Golf Course or surrounding area, snowshoe rentals are available at Christy Sports. Guided Tours are also available.

Ice Skating
The ice rink at their sister Hotel Madeline Telluride offers day and evening skating with music. The rink is located a few steps from your door and maintained nightly. In Telluride the Town Park features a recreational skating rink with music and lighting. The new Hanley Ice Pavilion is also located in the park with recreational skating, hockey and broom ball. The Pavilion opens mid-November, ice rinks are open in December, weather permitting. Rentals are available at sports stores or in Town Park.

Snow-biking
For a different mode of fun on Telluride’s ski slopes, try snow biking. Snow bikes require no pedaling, no climbing and no prior experience on snow. The bike sits low to the ground on two skis, instead of wheels, and the rider straps snow blades on his feet for extra balance. Private lessons are available during peak ski season and group lessons at all other times on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Group lessons are $70 per person from 1-2:30 pm.

Ice Climbing
Whether a novice or an advanced climber, you can experience the exhilaration of an ice climb on icy waterfalls near Telluride with experienced guides. For enthusiasts, the Ouray Ice Climbing Park, located in the historic mining town of Ouray, offers half and full-day climbs, with world-renowned instructors, an hour and a half drive from Telluride.
